BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A 40-year-old Paterson man has been charged after fleeing a traffic stop and crashing his vehicle into multiple parked cars Sunday in Lodi, reports Daily Voice.

According to Saddle Brook Police, an officer had tried to pull the man over for an undisclosed violation in the area of eastbound Route 46 and Westminster Place at around 12:00 p.m.

Officials said the male driver sped away and eventually crashed into four parked cars. The man attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended. He has since been charged with “eluding, resisting arrest,” and for “being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm,” which was recovered at the scene.

The Saddle Brook Police Department noted the Paterson man, who had just been released from state prison in February after serving four and a half years, was wanted on a warrant out of Paterson. He was issued multiple traffic summonses before being booked into Bergen County Jail, and is scheduled to appear in Hackensack’s Central Judicial Processing Court.
