GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — A 22-year-old Williamstown man has been charged following a fatal high-speed crash last month on U.S. Highway 322 in Monroe Township, reports Daily Voice.

The collision occurred on U.S. Route 322 (South Black Horse Pike) near Ocean Lane on Wednesday, December 22, at about 5:40 p.m.

According to Monroe Township Police, the young man was driving a Chevrolet Corvette at about 119 miles per hour just three seconds before the vehicle hit the rear-passenger side of a westbound Honda Accord that was turning into a parking lot. The driver of the Accord, a 52-year-old Marlton man, was ejected from the car. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The Williamstown man sustained a minor injury, but it was unclear whether he was taken to a hospital. On Friday, January 6th, he was formally charged with “death by auto” and “assault by auto” for his role in the fatal wreck.
