Three seriously injured in crash outside Metlife Stadium

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ- Two individuals were seriously injured while one experienced less severe injuries in a two-car wreck outside MetLife Stadium on Thursday night, reports Daily Voice.

According to police, the crash occurred shortly after 6:00pm on Route 3 just outside of MetLife stadium. One vehicle hit a utility pole after hitting another vehicle heading eastbound. East Rutherford and Lyndhurst firefighters assisted in releasing the two individuals in the vehicle that hit the pole.

One suffered skull and facial fractures, while another experienced leg fractures. A third involved in the accident experienced less severe injuries. All three were transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, however, a medical chopper originally planned to transport them was cancelled.

Two lanes of Route 3 heading eastbound were closed as the wreckage was cleared.
