EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Police are on the lookout for the driver of a Jeep who smashed into the front doors of a local school then left the scene early Tuesday.

According to Daily Voice, the Jeep entered the parking lot at Bowne Munro Elementary School on Main Street at about 4:30 a.m. Surveillance video footage showed that the dark-colored Jeep Liberty or Jeep Commander parked near the front doors of the school. The driver sat in the vehicle for more than five minutes and then began to drive away.

However, before the Jeep left the parking lot, the driver apparently rethought exiting and turned the vehicle around. He lined up and drove into the front of the building.

Police arrived to find damage to the front doors and broken windows. The driver had left the scene.

Authorities are still on the lookout for the Jeep’s driver. Anyone with information is encouraged to call local officials with information they might have pertaining to the crash.
