IRVINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – A pedestrian was severely injured after being struck by a driver who allegedly ran a traffic light in Irvington Township this morning, according to local news sources.

The crash happened near the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Springfield Avenue at about 10 a.m., when a pedestrian was struck by a 58-year-old man from Springfield who was allegedly driving through a red light at a high rate of speed.

The victim was taken to the hospital with critical injuries including a severe head wound.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
