Massive house fire in Middletown under investigation

MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Emergency crews responded to a massive blaze in North Middletown Saturday morning, reports local media. 

The fire happened around 10 a.m. at 469 Center Avenue. The homeowner called for help after seeing flames beginning to enter the residence.

41 firefighters from five companies were needed to control the blaze. After performing a search and rescue to ensure no one else was inside, they were able to extinguish the fire.

One person and their dog were in the residence at the time. It’s not clear whether they were injured in the fire.

Authorities are investigating the cause.
