BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A 36-year-old East Orange resident has been charged after a hit-and-run crash last Thursday that injured another person in Glen Rock, reports Daily Voice.
The incident occurred on Rock Road, just east of Main Street, on October 20, at around 6:42 p.m.
Glen Rock Police said a 48-year-old borough man was driving a 2012 Honda Accord when he stopped for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Moments later, the Accord was rear-ended by a black Jeep which continued traveling away from the scene without stopping.
The driver of the Accord suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.
Further investigation found the hit-and-run vehicle had left an indentation of its license plate on the back end of the Accord. An GRPD officer and detectives were able to trace the plate back to a leasing company in Utah, and subsequently, to the fleeing driver.
The suspect is expected to appear in court on November 22.
