East Orange firefighters respond to building fire

EAST ORANGE, NJ- Officials reported and responded to a fire in a building in East Orange on Saturday night, according to local media sources.

At approximately 11:40pm, East Orange firefighters arrived to the scene of a building fire in the intersection of Brookwood Street and Tremont Avenue. The fire consumed multiple levels of a combination apartment building/grocery store. The fire was brought under control around 1:25am, with no serious injuries reported at this time.

The cause of the fire has not been released. We will monitor for updates.
