BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A man was hospitalized Wednesday morning after a rollover crash involving a dump truck on Route 287 in north Mahwah, according to Daily Voice.

The accident happened on the northbound interstate just south of the New York state border. Mahwah police, fire crews, EMS, and a paramedic unit from Ridgewood’s The Valley Hospital all responded to the scene shortly before 8:00 a.m.

Authorities said a Mack truck collided with the left guardrail and rolled over in the impact.

Crews were able to help the male driver, who suffered moderate injuries, out of the overturned truck. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was listed in serious condition.

A section of the northbound highway was shut down during the response but was reopened by noon, about four hours later.

An investigation by New Jersey State Police was underway.
