1 killed, 1 injured as car spins into US-9 traffic in Old Bridge

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — One person died Wednesday morning after a two-vehicle wreck that left another injured on U.S. Route 9 in Old Bridge, according to ABC7 News.

The fatal accident happened north of County Road 516, or Old Bridge Matawan Road, at around 6:30 a.m.

It was unclear what caused the crash, but one car veered out of its lane and over the median before spinning into oncoming traffic. Moments later, it collided with another vehicle.

One person was pronounced deceased, confirmed officials. Another person suffered undisclosed injuries.

A section of Route 9 was shut down during the emergency response.

An investigation remains ongoing.
