$1.195 Million Settlement at Trial for a Rear-End Auto Accident in Bergen County
Personal Injury Chair Edward Capozzi settled a personal injury case at trial involving two motor vehicle accidents on September 12, 2018 for $1.195 million. On December 19, 2011, the plaintiff, a 54-year-old woman, was stopped in traffic on Route 4 West in Paramus, New Jersey when she was struck behind by a vehicle causing her to sustain injuries to her back. These injuries resulted in a need for numerous and frequent pain management injections.
While the plaintiff was still undergoing treatment for the first accident, she was involved in a subsequent accident on October 28, 2015, when she was stopped in traffic on Goffle Road in Ridgewood, New Jersey and was struck from behind by a dump truck. As a result of the second accident, she sustained injuries to her neck requiring immediate hospitalization at Valley Hospital before she was transferred to Mt. Sinai in New York to undergo an emergency cervical open door expansive laminoplasty.
The combined settlement for both accidents was $1,195,000. Edward Capozzi was assisted in this matter by Brach Eichler Injury Lawyers Associate Corey Dietz.
