TEANECK, NJ – An accident on the New Jersey Turnpike claimed the life of a woman from Maywood and injured another person early Christmas morning, according to the Hackensack Daily Voice.
The accident occurred in Teaneck, near milepost 120 on the Turnpike, at around 1 a.m., when the 41-year-old operator of a Toyota Camry stopped in the center of the roadway.
The victim, identified as Maywood woman Kelly Bey, was struck by the driver of a Lexus SUV. She died at the scene.
The driver of the Lexus, who has yet to be publicly identified, suffered non-critical injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision at this time.
