NEWARK, NJ – A woman was injured after she jumped off a roof in order to escape a house fire in Newark yesterday, according to the Hackensack Daily Voice.
A two-and-a-half-story home located at 384 S 19th Street caught fire before 9:20 a.m.
A woman jumped off the roof of the home in order to escape the flames. Afterward, the as-yet-unnamed victim was taken to the hospital for the treatment of undisclosed injuries.
No other people were reported as hurt.
A total of six people, including two children, were forced from their home as a result.
Firefighters had the blaze under control by about 9:45 a.m.
Arson units continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
