SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – According to MyCentralJersey, A 48-year old Hightstown woman driving a 2016 Nissan Rouge was struck by a 2005 Kensworth T80 dump truck on Tuesday, May 5.
The crash took place along Route 1 at around 8:38 a.m. on the northbound highway in the vicinity of Northumberland Way that caused the roadway to be closed for several hours.
The woman driving the Nissan Rouge was injured in the accident and transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Due to the crash, the dump truck overturned, lost its load of gravel, and caught on fire. The driver of the dump truck was a 24-year-old resident of Staten, Island, New York who was not seriously injured.
There are no charges at this time and the accident is under investigation.
