PLEASANTVILLE, NJ (ATLANTIC COUNTY) – A woman was killed, and another was hurt after they were struck by a hit-and-run driver in Atlantic County last night, according to Breaking AC.
The accident happened in the 100 block of E Brighton Avenue, as 37-year-old Somers Point woman Rasheeda Sayers and 43-year-old Pleasantville resident Nicole Tribbett were standing by a parked vehicle and speaking to someone inside.
30-year-old Pleasantville man Jose Dominguez-Rivera then allegedly struck the two women with his pickup truck, then fled the scene.
Tribbett died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Sayers suffered critical, life-threatening wounds in the accident.
Dominguez-Rivera was later taken into police custody on charges of second-degree injury hit-and-run and third-degree unlicensed driving related to an injury crash. He is also suspected of having been of driving under the influence, though authorities have not yet confirmed the results of a toxicology report.
