ABSECON, NJ – A woman is under arrest in connection with a 2018 crash that killed another driver in southern New Jersey, according to NJ.com.
Authorities say 24-year-old Kaitlyn Hayes of Pleasantville is charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter and first-degree vehicular homicide in a school zone.
The accident happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 19, 2018 on Pitney Road near Connecticut Avenue in Absecon. Hayes was driving a Ford Expedition when she crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle driven by 36-year-old Suzana Kocick of Galloway Township, according to investigators.
Kozick was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say Hayes was driving over 100 miles an hour and was under the influence of marijuana at the time of the crash.
Hayes was arrested last Wednesday and placed in custody pending a detention hearing.
