HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – A man wanted in New York for parole violations was arrested in New Jersey after crashing in Union Township on Wednesday.
According to Nj.com, 42-year-old Erick Allen was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on eastbound Route 78 near milepost 11 at about 8:50 p.m. The trooper discovered that Allen was wanted in New York but Allen sped off in his sedan before the trooper could arrest the suspect.
Allen crashed his vehicle about two miles after fleeing and the same trooper arrested him at the scene. Allen had suffered minor injuries when he crashed his car and was taken to a local hospital.
Investigating officials found marijuana and two handguns in his vehicle. He remains in custody and is facing charges for his activities in New Jersey as well as New York.
