BUENA BOROUGH, NJ (ATLANTIC COUNTY) – One man died in a crash last night when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on State Highway 54, according to the Burlington Daily Voice.
Vineland man Robert Mercogliano, 61, was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle around 6 p.m. when a driver of a Chrysler minivan attempted to make a turn from Pancoast Mill Road onto the highway.
The two vehicles crashed, and Mercogliano died at the scene of the accident.
According to a Facebook tribute reported by the Daily Voice, Mercogliano’s wife, Wendy Gallagher, said he was “doing what he loved most – riding.”
She also said that he had been “on his way to help others.”
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
