ESSEX COUNTY, NJ – Two men robbed a driver and passenger at gunpoint after rear-ending their vehicle in Newark on Friday evening, according to Nj.com.
Two men used their vehicle to rear-end the victim’s car near where Murray Street crosses Route 21 at about 7:30 p.m. on Friday. When the driver and passenger stepped out of the car to assess the damage, the two men robbed the victims at gunpoint.
The thieves made away with several credit cards and cash. Police are continuing their search for the suspects. One of them has been identified as Rafael Maldonado and there is now a warrant out for his arrest. The second suspect’s identity has not been released.
Maldonado was described as about 5 foot 8, around 200 pounds, with dark hair receding from his forehead. Police are asking for the public’s assistance as they continue their search.
