UNION COUNTY, NJ – A motorist was in critical condition after a car accident and fire on the Garden State Parkway in Clark on Monday morning.
According to RLS Media, two cars crashed in the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway near Exit 135 for Central Avenue at about 2:45 a.m. One of the vehicles had overturned in the impact and the other caught fire.
Authorities extricated one person from one of the cars, who was then transported to a local hospital for serious injuries. They remain in critical condition.
The crash happened about a mile from a fatal car accident that had occurred a few minutes earlier. This section of the Garden State Parkway has been noted for its many crashes.
Officials are continuing an investigation.
