Vehicle split in half by Edison Township crash

EDISON, NJ – A vehicle was split in half during a violent collision with a utility pole on Route 1 in Edison Township early on Monday morning.

According to a local news report, the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and crashed into a utility pole at about 4:10 a.m. near Pierson Avenue. The impact was so severe that the vehicle split in two.

The unidentified driver was transported from the scene to a local hospital with a broken leg.

Crews replace the damaged utility pole on Monday morning.
