MERCER COUNTY, NJ – Visible flames could be seen from a vehicle burning on Interstate 195 in Robbinsville Township in the evening on Sunday.
According to Mid-Jersey News, the car caught fire in the westbound lanes of I-195 near the New Jersey Turnpike between exits 6 and 7 just before 8 p.m.
Firefighters were able to quickly knock back the flames but not before the car became fully engulfed. Brilliant flames and dark smoke were both clearly visible in the surrounding area.
Drivers were backuped about a mile behind the accident.
The cause of the fire is unclear.
