ELIZABETH, NJ – A vehicle fire was blocking one lane on the New Jersey Turnpike near to the Newark airport on Wednesday morning.
According to the New Jersey traffic website, the fire was on the northbound inner roadway in the area north of Interchange 13A, which is for the Newark Liberty International Airport and US1&9. The fire was initially reported at about 10:15 a.m.
The left lane was blocked as emergency crews worked to extinguish the fire. The roadway was clear within an hour and a half.
At this time, no injuries have been reported.
