TOMS RIVER, NJ – According to Lakewood Scoop, there was an accident that involved a Toms River police patrol car on Monday, May 4.
The accident took place around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 70 and Massachusetts Avenue.
Officer Frank Moschella was responding to a previous accident where he attempted to block the roadway and protect the drivers.
A few seconds after the officer is at a stand still, a vehicle driven by a 47-year-old failed to yield and collided into the patrol vehicle which then strikes another two vehicles.
The crash was recorded on video.
No serious injuries were reported.
The accident is still under investigation.
