UNION COUNTY, NJ – The driver of a cargo van lost control in a residential area of Hillside on Sunday, crashing into a house early in the afternoon.
According to a local news report, the driver was crashed into a home near the corner of Maple Avenue and Hillside Avenue at about 12:20 p.m. The man was trapped for a time in the large white cargo van.
The driver reported minor injuries. Thankfully, no one inside the home was hurt.
In order to free the entrapped victim, utility workers shut off the power to the home temporarily. Responders also made sure the house was stable before leaving the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
