BERGEN COUNTY, NJ – A man from Hampton, VA has been charged following a police chase that happened last Tuesday.
According to Daily Voice, Larry Blackwell, 38, slowed for members of the Narcotic Task Force before speeding away and leading police on a chase that ended in Fort Lee. Authorities pursued his rented Jeep Wrangler along Route 46 onto North Avenue.
Blackwell hit a vehicle on West Street before he ran into an embankment and came to a stop.
Blackwell attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by detectives.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital for a knee injury before he was transferred to Bergen County Jail to await his first appearance in court.
His charges including eluding, drug possession, and money laundering.
The driver of the vehicle Blackwell struck in passing sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
