BRIDGEWATER, NJ- A 28-year-old UPS driver was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident involving a tractor trailer early Friday, according to Daily Voice.
At approximately 2:00am, Robert C. Cepeda of Plainfield was heading to work at UPS from a commuter bus when he was hit by a tractor trailer on the westbound side of Route 28. He was walking across an intersection near Chimney Rock Road towards a convenience store.
The red or brown tractor trailer, heading eastbound, slowed after the accident but did not stop, continuing onto Route 287 South. Cepeda was found by officials on the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene after life-saving attempts.
