WESTWOOD, NJ- As reported previously, updates regarding the identity of the driver and incident have been released about the driver who crashed into an in-ground pool on Monday, according to Daily Voice.
The driver, a 32-year-old from Emerson was not identified by name. However, it was revealed that when she fell asleep behind the wheel, she pressed the accelerator rather than the brake. This mistake caused the accident. She was rescued by a police officer when she could not open the door or windows of her vehicle in the pool.
She experienced minor injuries and was taken to Pascack Valley Medical Center. She received a summons for careless driving.
The investigation into this accident is closed.
