FRANKLIN, NJ – The single-vehicle accident that killed 24-year-old Brandon Deeck was caused by a tire failure, according to the police report of the incident.
Deeck was towing a waverunner with his pickup truck traveling southbound on Route 55 at 9:35 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle at milepost 40.6. The truck left the roadway, hit a sign, and overturned before rolling down an embankment and striking several trees. We now know that the accident was the result of a tire blowout.
Deeck was killed when he was thrown from his vehicle.
