According to Daily Voice, the victim was 41-year-old Mario Andres Uran Gaviria. The motorcyclist was following a bobtail truck—a cab without a trailer—on Route 17 when the accident happened near Oldis Street at about 8:40 p.m. The truck driver slowed for a red light and the Gaviria did not manage to stop before hitting the truck.
The truck driver, who was potentially unaware of the collision, did not stop. Police are continuing to look for the red or maroon bobtail.
Gaviria was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
An investigation is ongoing and police are actively seeking information from witnesses or anyone who may be able to help identify the truck driver.
