Update: Hit-and-run suspect apprehended

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ – Police have apprehended a suspect in hit-and-run from earlier in the month, according to the Hudson Reporter.

Authorities had solicited public help in finding David Cenusu, 19, of Baltimore before he turned himself in on Thursday. Cenusu came to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office with his attorney early in the afternoon.

The accident for which he was wanted occurred on July 6 when Reyna Huerta-Flores, 35, was struck in from of 850 Paterson Plank Road. The accident happened a few minutes after 7 p.m. and Huerta-Flores passed away in a local hospital at about 11:15 p.m. the same day.

Authorities expressed appreciation to media outlets and the public and the role they played in bringing Cenusu in.

Cenusu is awaiting a pending trial.
