BRICK, NJ- According to Daily Mail, officials have discovered that the driver previously covered to have killed an elderly woman in a Brick crash in May had multiple drugs, including fentanyl, in her system at the time of the accident.
On May 9th, a 2011 Toyota Camry crossed over a center median and struck a Dodge Caravan head-on, killing 78-year-old Nancy Penrod and injuring 78-year-old Terry Penrod, the driver of the Dodge. The driver of the Toyota was revealed to be 30-year-old Ashley Watkins of Eatontown, who was revealed on a June 2 toxicology report to have fentanyl, Benedryl, and marijuana in her system. She was determined to be “unfit to safely operate a motor vehicle” at the time of the crash, according to officials.
She has been arrested at her residence without problem for Driving While Intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to stay in her lane, and strict liability vehicular homicide.
