MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – Police are working to identify the pedestrian struck and killed by an SUV on Route 9 in Old Bridge on Tuesday night.
According to NJ.com, the accident happened in the middle of Route 9 near a McDonald’s and New Jersey Transit park-and-ride at about 10:30 p.m.
The victim, a man approximately in his 40s or 50s, did not have identification on his person. Police are working hard to find the man’s identity.
The driver, a woman, remained at the scene after the crash and is cooperating with authorities. At this time, she is not expected to face charges.
The area was closed while the police investigation for several hours but has since reopened.
