Two-vehicle accident kills one in Paterson

PASSAIC, NJ – A two-vehicle accident Sunday night took the life of a 58-year-old man in Paterson, according to NJ.com.

Patterson resident Gustavo Marte collided with a second vehicle at the intersection of East 26th Street and Ninth Avenue.

Marte was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a 22-year-old man from Wayne, escaped the accident without injury.

The 22-year-old remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. At this time, there are no pending charges.

The accident is still under investigation.
