SALEM COUNTY, NJ – Traffic on the NJ Turnpike backed up on the New Jersey side of the Delaware Memorial Bridge after a fatal accident on Tuesday afternoon.
According to NJ.com, a car became disabled just over the Delaware line in the southbound lanes of the bridge. A tractor-trailer struck the vehicle from behind at about 3 p.m.
Two of the three people inside the car died at the scene. The third was transported to an area hospital.
A three-mile backup into Salem County was reported as three of the four southbound lanes were closed for an onsite investigation.
