ESSEX COUNTY, NJ – A tractor-trailer driver lost control and crashed into several trees near a busy intersection in Newark on Friday afternoon.
According to local news, the truck was on Route 21 when the driver lost control of it near Elm Street at about 6 p.m. The truck rode off the road and took down several trees along the sidewalk but stopped before entering the intersection.
The truck driver sustained no serious injuries. Thankfully, there was no one on the sidewalk at the time of the crash and the out-of-control truck did not enter the busy intersection, which could have caused serious injury.
Delays were reported in the area while the scene was cleared.
Authorities are still investigating.
