BERGEN COUNTY, NJ – A tractor-trailer was carrying bananas when it toppled on Route 1&9 near the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee on Thursday.
According to Daily Voice, the truck was headed towards the bridge when it rolled to its side on Route 1&9 (also Route 46 in the area) at about 11:30 p.m.
The toppled vehicle spilled a large amount of fuel, closing the roadway in both directions.
The truck was carrying a few thousand pounds of bananas. A crew had to move the load of bananas into another trailer.
