NEWARK, NJ – A third victim has been added to the tally of casualties of a Sunday night Newark crash that also killed another woman and an 11-year-old.
According to NJ.com, a Honda struck a Mazda head-on near the intersection of Central Avenue and Broad Street at about 7 p.m. The crash forced the Mazda into a Toyota.
77-year-old Elba Galarza, a passenger in the Honda, died shortly after being transported to a local hospital. The Mazda’s backseat passenger—11-year-old Clarise Pizcha—died on the night of the accident from injuries as well. The driver of the Mazda passed away in the early hours of Monday. She was identified as Rosa Lojalema, 35.
Five other people who had been occupants of the Honda and Mazda were injured. The driver and passenger of the Toyota were unharmed.
At this time, no charges have been filed in connection with the crash.
