ROBBINSVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ – Three people suffered injuries after a gruesome crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Robbinsville Township on Sunday morning.
According to a local Fox News affiliate, a man was standing outside of his car at 2 a.m. after it had become disabled and was in the left-hand northbound travel lane. A passing motorist struck the 30-year-old Connecticut man along with his vehicle. Pictures from the scene show the vehicle overturned and badly damaged.
The victim’s injuries were reported to be serious. The other involved driver and a passenger also sustained injuries.
Local authorities shut down the freeway lanes for hours on Sunday morning while conducting an investigation at the scene.
