NEWARK, NJ – Three people, including a police officer, were injured in a car accident in the North Ward area of Newark on Saturday night.
According to RLS Media, a pursuit began in the northern end of the city after a motorist would not stop for an officer using lights and sirens at about 10:15 p.m. Officers pursued the vehicle for a short time at high speeds in the area of Woodside Avenue and Montclair Avenue.
The chase ended when the suspects crashed with a civilian car then fled from the scene on foot.
Two suspects were apprehended after a chase on the foot through the neighborhood backyards.
All three injured parties were taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The pursuit and accident remain under investigation.
