NEW MILFORD, NJ – The 17-year-old driver who injured a woman in a head-on collision at an intersection in New Milford on Monday evening fell asleep moments before the crash, police say.
According to Daily Voice, the Hackensack teen was driving his Hyundai Elantra north on Boulevard at about 7 p.m. yesterday when he crossed into oncoming traffic near East Woodland Road and collided head-on with a Volkswagen Tiguan.
Emergency responders took the Volkswagen’s driver to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. The 22-year-old Dumont woman suffered a broken wrist, while the teen driver declined medical attention.
Investigations are ongoing, and charges are expected.
