Suspects flee on foot after Newark hit-and-run crash

NEWARK, NJ – Police were looking for the suspects that bailed out of their vehicle after a crash in Newark leaving weapons behind on Thursday night.

According to RLS Media, the accident happened near the corner of Jefferson Street and South Street in the East Ward area at about 10:15 p.m.

Witnesses reported that the occupants of one of the involved vehicles had fled the scene on foot. Authorities searched the vehicle and discovered two guns inside.

No one was seriously injured in the crash.

Authorities are continuing their search for the suspects.
