JERSEY CITY, NJ – A local news story reported that three people bailed out of a crashed vehicle after a chase through Jersey City early on Monday morning.
The crash happened near the intersection of Union Street and Garfield Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. Police had been chasing the suspect’s vehicle after a shooting on Johnson Avenue earlier in the morning. Authorities believed that the car was involved in the shooting but the driver would not pull over and police gave chase until the driver crashed.
Three suspects fled from the crash scene on foot. One person, a 13-year-old, was apprehended and taken into custody. The suspect was also treated for minor injuries.
The other suspects had not been apprehended on Monday morning.
