BERGEN COUNTY, NJ – A suspect crashed a stolen vehicle into a police car during a chase through Elizabeth and Newark on Thursday morning.
According to RLS Media, the pursuit went from Elizabeth into Newark, during which the suspect crashed the stolen vehicle into a police car on Thursday morning.
Police had initially attempted to stop the Dodge Durango for traffic violations. When the vehicle’s operator declined to stop for lights and sirens, a pursuit began. The driver crashed into a police officer’s car near the intersection of Newark Avenue and North Avenue at about 4 a.m. but continued on.
The suspect sped away northbound and the pursuing officers eventually lost sight of the stolen vehicle.
No one was seriously injured.
