NEWARK, NJ – A suspect crashed a stolen vehicle in Newark after refusing to stop for police sirens and initiating a pursuit early on Wednesday morning.
According to RLS Media, New Jersey State Police attempted to pull over a Honda Civic on Route 21 in Belleville at about 3:15 a.m. The vehicle refusing to stop and officers gave chase using sirens and lights. Officers also confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen out of Paterson.
The driver crashed into another car while turning onto 3rd Street. Three people piled out of the car and ran from the scene.
The police were able to apprehend the driver and one passenger. Both are facing charges for their actions.
An investigation is ongoing.
