ESSEX COUNTY, NJ – Essex County officials are continuing to investigate a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident in the West Ward area of Newark last week.
According to RLS Media, the accident happened near Greater Harvest Baptist Church at the intersection of 15th Avenue and 13th Street at about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2.
The victim, a 63-year-old man, was found in the road, bleeding. He was pronounced dead at the scene sooner after. The identity of the man is being withheld pending the notification of his family.
The driver left the scene after hitting the man. Police were able to locate the vehicle and suspect on Saturday.
An investigation is still ongoing.
