FAIR LAWN, NJ – Summons have been issued to a Fair Lawn man after the pedestrian accident that occurred in front of the municipal building last week, according to Patch.com.
The pedestrian, Yuri Berger, was crossing Fair Lawn Avenue using the crosswalk when he was struck by a motor vehicle. The force of the collision threw him beneath a second vehicle. Despite a quick response from the police, who performed CPR, he was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital.
Johvanny Payero, 53, has been charged with failure to stop for a pedestrian in the roadway. Payero, like Berger, is from Fair Lawn.
