NEWARK, NJ – A stolen vehicle pursuit resulted in two arrests and the injury of two officers and one civilian on Tuesday afternoon in Newark.
According to NJ.com, a Montclair police officer made a motor vehicle stop around 2:30 p.m. The officer discovered that the vehicle was stolen and the suspect fled the scene in the stolen car, hitting the officer as he drove away.
After a pursuit into Newark, the driver crashed the vehicle on North 6th Street with a parked car.
Another officer and a civilian were injured at the time of the crash.
The driver and passenger of the stolen vehicle were both arrested. Their identities have not been released.
At least one of the officers was transported to a hospital for treatment but further details on injuries have not been released to the public.
