MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – A woman destroyed her brand-new Tesla when she crashed after falling asleep at the wheel in South Brunswick on Monday morning.
According to Daily Voice, the woman was headed west on two-lane Dey Road at about 9 a.m. when she fell asleep behind the wheel of her 2021 Tesla. The vehicle veered across the eastbound lane coming up to a curve and then crashed into a utility pole.
The tire of the car was torn off in the crash and the car landed in a cornfield along the road.
It was unclear whether the Tesla was operating in the auto-pilot mode when the vehicle crashed.
The driver was not injured in the crash.
