MADISON, NJ – A single-vehicle accident closed a Madison intersection after a driver hit a stoplight on Tuesday afternoon, according to a local news report.
The crash happened on Main Street near Community Place at about 1 p.m. The car struck a stoplight as well as a fire hydrant at the intersection.
Authorities closed all lanes on Main Street in both directions between Green Village Road and Madison Avenue. After more than an hour, a partial reopening was made but lanes continued to be blocked until after 4:30 p.m.
There is no word on the driver’s condition.
The accident is still under investigation.
